Believe it or not, Blue Man Group has been playing its open run at the Briar Street Theatre for 20 years.
The group is celebrating with a special birthday performance on 10/12 at 8 p.m., complete with a few surprises. Commemorative cupcakes will also be included!

Additionally, Blue Man Group has held five autism-friendly performances in collaboration with Autism Speaks, and has awarded $45,000 to emerging artists through two art competitiosn.
The celebration will include a collaboration with Sprinkles Cupcakes – stop in at the 50 E. Walton location from 10/11-10/31 for special custom Blue Man Group cupcakes (anyone who buys gets a voucher for 25 percent off tickets to the show). And if you’re lucky, you might win a ticket giveaway during October just for being a customer of the Sprinkles’ CupcakeATM.
What is it about Blue Man Group? This is a show that defies description by mixing art, music, comedy, technology, and interactivity. The entire show is performed by three bald, blue men, who explore cultural norms with wonder, poke fun at human quirks, and do some pretty impressive tricks. The show is constantly refreshed, so it is always new even for those who think they saw it already.
These blue men are part of our culture now, and part of Chicago’s vital, exciting performance scene. The show is presented by Blue Man Productions, a global entertainment company that performs the show in more than 20 countries. The first Blue Man Group show took place in 1991.
Tickets for the show cost $39-$99. They can be purchased at the box office, by calling 773-349-4000, or through Ticketmaster. Information and scheduling can be found at www.blueman.com/chicago.
