The 13th annual Chicago Travel & Adventure Show takes place at the DES Convention Center in Rosemont on 1/21-1/22. That’s just in time for many of us locals, sick of winter, to start dreaming of getting away.
This two-day event features more than 30 seminars, designed to help you plan the next family trip. Seminars include “99 Ways to Cut Your Travel Costs Without Skimping,” “Travel Smart and Pack Right,” and “Discovering Uncharted Waters.” Samantha Brown, Rick Steves, and Peter Greenberg are guest speakers.
The Taste of Travel Theater features food, and the Global Beats Stage offers live entertainment. If you want inspiration, Destination Theater can help. Camel rides, scuba diving, and Segway tours provide a bit of fun for families.
The show features 350+ exhibitors. They’re separated into categories based upon geographic location, lifestyle, cruising, and travel products. Whether you’re interested in exploring the midwestern U.S. or one of the countries in Asia or Africa, you can find tips, deals, and other information among the many companies and sponsors that line this area.
The show is open to the public from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center’s Hall F, 5555 N. River Rd. in Rosemont. Tickets cost $18 for both days in advance, or $11 for one day. Kids 16 and under are free with an adult.
