Now that the holiday season is over, the city is prepping for Valentine’s Day. Make this a romantic mid-winter break, and reserve your place at someplace special for your sweetheart – whether that’s a significant other, your child, or a group of friends who are all single too. February 14 is on a Tuesday this year, so plan accordingly!

Bravo! Cucina Italiana
The Bravo! location in Glenview features two courses starting at $21.95 – either a soup or salad, and an entree. This deal is good from 2/10-2/19.

California Pizza Kitchen
Starting 2/10, you can get a great Valentine’s Day deal here. Choose an appetizer: spinach artichoke dip, two tortilla spring rolls, lettuce wraps with chicken, or Tuscan hummus. Get two entrees: full-size Thai Crunch Salad, full-size Chinese chicken salad, full-size Original BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad, The Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza, mushroom pepperoni sausage pizza, five cheese and fresh tomato pizza, garlic cream fettucine with chicken, Kung Pao spaghetti with chicken, or Bolognese spaghetti. Then pick a dessert to share: salted caramel pudding, red velvet cake, key lime pie, or butter cake. Choose the location nearest you.

Catch 35
Love is in the air at Catch 35 in Chicago and Naperville, where Valentine’s Day specials are available from 2/14-2/18. For your appetizer, try smoked oyster chowder for $6, or shrimp and grits with Korean BBQ sauce and pork belly for $17. As your entree, you can choose Florida red group with mussels, coconut milk, and Thai chilies for $36; crab-stuffed Maine lobster tail for $48, or New York Strip and scallops for $62. The special dessert is Strawberry Tres Leches Cake for $7. The regular menu is also available.

Emilio’s Tapas
Emilio’s Tapas in Hillside will feature a special Valentine’s Day menu as well as the regular tapas menu. Spanish guitar group Montage will provide romantic flamenco-style mood music.

Gene & Georgetti
Celebrate love with a special edition of ONEHOPE Pinot Noir; a percentage of proceeds benefit the Hope Heart Institute. You can enjoy this special wine from 2/10-2/14, to pair with signature dishes or enjoy with Valentine’s menu specials downtown and in Rosemont. These include a caprese salad for $8.75, braised short rib ravioli for $12, Land + Sea (6 oz. petite filet and day boat scallop or grilled shrimp with sauce Choron) for $49, broiled Chilean sea bass for $37, or chicken roulade for $25. Every couple who buys the ONEHOPE Pinot Noir with their meal will get a complimentary homemade Panna Cotta (espresso-infused Italian custard with cream, strawberries and whipped cream).

Hackney’s on Lake
Located in Glenview, this restaurant known for great burgers and American eats and a giant wall of onion rings will offer half-price wine bottles all day. Perfect for sharing! The featured entree for Valentine’s Day is a Choice-cut petite filet mignon with twice-baked potato, roast vegetables, and your choice of soup or salad for $18.95. Starting at 5:30, enjoy silly love songs from piano player Mary Claire Barker.

Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse

Throughout the week, you can also get a Build-Your-Own Heart Shaped pizza for $13 with up to three toppings. For grown-ups, a dark chocolate martini is available.

Kane County Cougars
Believe it or not, the Class A minor league team (affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks) offers a cool Valentine’s Day option for baseball lovers on 2/11. You’ll dine at Northwestern Medicine Field in the Super Suite banquet room at 6:30 p.m. for $75 per couple. Choose from three different menus, all of which feature soup or salad, tasty sides and a New York-style cheesecake for dessert. Menu #1 includes a grilled flat-iron steak with maple balsamic reduction. Menu #2 includes a pan-roasted Airline chicken breast. Menu #3 offers Florentine Supreme Ravioli with vodka sauce.

The Valentine’s Day event at this Schaumburg venue takes place 2/10 with a Pixels, Pints, Plates & Pianos event, featuring dueling pianos from Howl at the Moon, gaming, heart-shaped pizzas, and bowling.

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks
From 2/10-2/14, enjoy “The Perfect Pair” at your closest location Select two starters – mixed field greens salad, Caesar salad, or clam chowder. Get two entrees: petite filet & stuffed shrimp, coconut shrimp & salmon, or steak medallions & lobster tail. For dessert, you get creme brulee and two chocolate-covered strawberries. Medieval Times
If going back to a more chivalrous age is your idea of romance, you might want to avail yourself of the Valentine’s Day package at this dinner show venue in Hoffman Estates, which includes two admissions, a framed photo, two souvenir glasses of champagne, and a box of fine chocolates. Morton’s The Steakhouse
For a romantic and luxurious holiday meal, Morton’s is offering its steak and lobster menu with drawn butter for $56. Come in from 2/10-2/14 to enjoy this special offering.

Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro

Navy Pier
Tuesday is National Ferris Wheel Day, so free rides take place on the Centennial wheel until 2:14 p.m., which will include DIY photo opps with props and fun surprices. At the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, “Love Labor’s Lost” runs from 2/7-3/26. My Sweaty Valentine Zumba takes place at 6 p.m. for free, and Valentine’s Day specials take place at Riva Crab House and Harry Caray’s. Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille
On Valentine’s Day, Perry’s is offering a prix-fixe meal that includes your choice of soup or salad, an entrée, and a dessert. Options for the first course include lobster bisque, French onion soup, a signature wedge salad, Caesar salad, or kale salad with a jalapeno mint vinaigrette. For the second course, choices include 8 oz. filet, famous pork chop, or Chicken Oscar. Dessert will be a white chocolate cheesecake, dessert trio, or chocolate crunch. Cost is $59.95 for 5:30 p.m. and earlier, and $74.95 for 5:45 p.m. and later (tax and tip are not included). Live entertainment takes place from 6 p.m. to close.

Pinot’s Palette
Do something a bit different – get creative at this paint-and-sip place, where locations are offering romance-themed pictures all weekend through 2/14. Pick the day based on your availability or the painting you want to create, and get a drink or a full bottle at the bar. You can find Pinot’s Palette locations in Elmhurst, Naperville, South Barrington, Glenview, Logan Square, and the West Loop in Chicago. Different sites will have different rules and prices, but you can bring your own food. Based on what restaurants are nearby, catering or delivery may be available. Note that some locations will be closed on Monday.

Prairie Grass Cafe
This awesome eatery in Northbrook is featuring Valentine’s Dinner Specials, including a half-bottle of Bollinger Brut Champagne for $48, roasted butternut squash salad for $10, sauteed wild-striped bass for $34, “Creekstone” all-natural Filet Mignong (8 oz.) for $45, and thin apple tarts with creme anglaise for $12. RA Sushi
For the holiday RA Sushi is offering a sweet little duo: a Strawberry Lobster Roll, paired with Passion Fruit Margarita or JCB Sparkling Rose Wine. Enjoy through 2/14.

At The Ram in Wheeling, you can come in from 2/12-2/14 to enjoy the full menu, or you can partake of the $39.95 dinner for 2 special. Your first course is a cup of soup, green salad, or Caesar salad. For your second course, pick two of the following: chicken pot pie, Southern fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, beer-battered fish and chips, grilled wild Alaska salmon, beer-battered fried gulf shrimp, Harris Ranch sirloin steak, marinated flank steak, 1/2 rack Big Red’s IPA Baby Back Ribs, bacon-wrapped Prime meatloaf, RAM Mac & Cheese, street tacos, Fried Chicken Cobb Wedge Entree Salad, spicy Caesar entree salad, Olympus entree salad, or a kale & quinoa entree salad. Your final course is one dessert to share. Pick from blueberry creme brulee, brownie skillet sundae, chocolate chip skillet cookie, Colossal Sizzling Bread Pudding, Mile High Mud Pie or an ice cream cupcake trio. Special V-Day cocktails include the Chocolate Kiss Martini for $8 and the Sparkling Raspberry Cocktail for $9.

Roka Akor
In Skokie, this eatery at Westfield Old Orchard shopping mall (part of a chain with four nation-wide locations) is offering a special four-course prix-fixe meal for dinner 2/11-2/12. The first course is zuke tuna tataki and grilled Madagascan tiger prawn, and the second is a deluxe sashimi platter. Course three is Yuzu miso-marinated black cod, Robata-grilled prime NY Strip with black truffle aioli, and crispy Brussels sprouts with Japanese mustard vinaigrette and bonito flakes (these are delicious!). Dessert is a warm chocolate cake with roasted white sesame and vanilla bean ice cream and a white chocolate-covered strawberry.   You can add a three-course wine pairing for $30 and a Japanese Wagyu upgrade (also $30). Cost is $85 per person.

Enjoy dinner and dancing inside the Grand Salon at this North Shore restaurant in the Westin Hotel. The four-course meal available on 2/11, starts with your choice of antipasto – shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half-shell, or parmesan-stuffed mushrooms. Options for the primo course included lobster bisque, gem & endive salad, or a winter caprese salad. The secondo course features your choice of entree – horseradish-crusted filet, pork chop, pan-roasted chicken vesuvio, twin lobster tails, or prime rib. Finish the meal off with molten chocolate cake a la mode, or key lime pie. The meal costs $49.95 per person. Also, Chef Mychal Bonner will be holding a cooking demonstration that teaches you how to create a special meal for your loved ones – with lobster bisque, beef wellington, and cannoli – at 11 a.m. on 2/11. Class costs $29.95, and reservations are required.

Seasons 52
If you’re willing to do Valentine’s Day on 2/12-2/13, you can enjoy a four-course dinner for two, including a sparking toast, for $60. Select your first course of signature flatbreads: roasted roma tomato, garlic pesto chicken, blackened steak & blue cheese, or all-natural pepperoni. For your second course, pick a salad – spinach and caramelized Bosc pear, organic field greens, or crisp romaine and baby kale Caesar. For your entree, select one: cedar plank-roasted salmon, wood-grilled filet mignon, Southern-style shrimp and grits, wood-grilled pork tenderloin, or all-natural roasted half chicken. Two Mini-Indulgence Desserts make up the last course. Upgrade your experience with wines paired with each course for $7.

Stir Crazy
From 2/10-2/17, you can enjoy the Ultimate Valentine’s Week menu, featuring three courses for two people for $50. Select an appetizer to share – crab rangoon, pan-seared chicken potstickers, Thai sticky wings, crazy shrimp, or chicken lettuce wraps. Select one entree for each of you – “The Ultimate Market Bar, Thai BBQ tacos, teriyaki steak, Japanese steak, Thai curry salmon, grilled wasabi salmon, teriyaki chicken, chicken and shrimp pad thai, or chicken and shrimp Kung Pao noodles. Split a dessert – the dessert trio, or the famous banana wontons.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse
The prix-fixe Valentine’s Menu here is available from 2/10-2/14 with a price of $69 before 5 p.m. and $79 after 5 p.m. First course options include Caesar salad, iceberg lettuce wedge, shrimp & lobster bisque, or a seafood tasting for two (add $16) featuring jumbo shrimp, seared Ahi tuna, oysters on the half-shell, and traditional garnishes. You can then select an entree and a side. Entree choices are filet mignon, crab & basil-stuffed shrimp, ribeye, prime rib, twin lump crab cakes, NY Strip, roasted balsamic chicken, double-cut pork chop, or a broiled salmon fillet. If you prefer, you can select a dish for two to share. The first such option is Filet Tournedos with twin seared center-cut filet mignon. You can also choose 16 oz. Alaskan King Crab legs. Dessert options are black velvet chocolate cake, key lime pie, Bananas Foster bread pudding, or NY-style cheesecake. A Callebaut Chocolate Mousse sphere is finished tableside. Add lobster, crab, or steak toppings for an extra fee.

Weber Grill Restaurant
The Valentine’s Celebration at Weber Grill Restaurant takes place 2/10-2/14 with a special menu that’s available either for dining in or carrying out. A strawberry salad or shrimp bisque are available to start. Special entrees include cedar-planked glazed salmon, surf and turf, and pink peppercorn-crusted NY strip. For dessert, try chocolate-dipped strawberries. The full dinner menu is also available. Weber Grill will also add a half dozen roses to your table for $30. Visit the area locations in Chicago, Lombard, or Schaumburg.

Wildfire Steaks, Chops & Seafood
This Lettuce Entertain You property will be hosting a Valentine’s Day menu for two that’s available 2/10-2/14 at a price of $90 per couple. Start with an appetizer – baked goat cheese, crab-stuffed mushroom camps, or barbecue chicken pizza. For the salad course, you have the option of a Caesar salad or Wildfire Chopped Salad. Pick two of the main course, which will be plated individually: cedar-planked salmon, fresh fish of the day, braised short ribs, feta-crushed NY steak, or a petite filet mignon with choice of signature crust. Your choice of side comes with it. Add a lobster tail for $20.95. For dessert, pick homemade chocolate cream pie, seasonal berries crisp with ice cream, or baked apple skillet pie. This menu is available at Chicago, Glenview, Lincolnshire, Oak Brook, and Schaumburg locations.
